FOCUS

The study of music is a challenging opportunity for personal expression and growth.  We firmly believe that music study has a positive effect on the lives of all our students, whether or not they decide to make music their career.  We therefore strive to provide a positive and encouraging environment for students to pursue this interest and also develop skills for their future benefit and enjoyment.

COURSE OF STUDY

Our studio offers instruction in piano from beginners to advanced. At the elementary levels, theory is included as part of the program and helps to set the stage for theoretical studies that are mandatory at the higher levels.   We also encourage our students to participate in performance opportunities such as recitals, festivals and examinations as we strongly believe these help provide meaningful goals to our students.

PIANO FEES AND PAYMENTS

Piano fees are set individually by the teachers.  Payments by cheque should be made out to Twilight Sound Studios. A fee of $20 will be charged for all NSF cheques.

PAYMENT DUE DATE FOR 2011/2012:  Monthly payments are due at the first lesson of each month.  Post dated cheques are also accepted.

MISSED LESSONS

Lessons that are missed due to illness can be re-scheduled at a convenient time for the teacher and student.  If a mutually convenient time cannot be found, then there will be no charge for the lesson. However, lessons missed for reasons other than illness will be billed at the regular fee but the teacher will make every effort to re-schedule the lesson. Please ensure adequate advance notice is given for missed lessons. A medical note may be required regarding the illness.

Occasionally, we find it necessary to cancel a lesson.  In that event, we will endeavour to give as much notice as possible.  If possible, we will re-schedule the missed lessons. No fee will be charged for lessons cancelled by us and not re-scheduled.

ENTRY FEES

Students are responsible for paying entry fees for examinations and festivals.  . 

RECITALS

A formal recital is held in December and June for the students to demonstrate their achievements in piano performance. All students are encouraged to participate in these events as they are an integral part of their musical development.  The recitals are held at the Delta Firehall Centre for the Arts unless otherwise indicated.  Admission to recitals is by donation and family and friends are welcome to attend. 

MUSIC PURCHASES

In consultation with students and parents, we usually purchase specific music books for our students and ask to be reimbursed for the amount paid.  This ensures that the correct items are purchased at a minimum inconvenience to the parents.
